Types of data collected

We collect Personal Data by ourselves and through trusted third parties. Unless stated otherwise, requested data is mandatory to provide the Service.

  • Contact details you provide (name, email) when you inquire or create a Studio Lab profile.
  • Account data for Studio Lab (login email, profile preferences, roles/permissions).
  • Project files & content you upload or share with us during collaboration.
  • Usage & device data (pages viewed, session timestamps, browser/device type, approximate location derived from IP).
  • Cookies & similar technologies used to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and (optionally) measure performance.
  • Communications (emails, feedback, support messages).
  • Job applications (e.g., CVs/portfolios) if you apply for a role.

Mode and place of processing

We take appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, or destruction of data. Processing uses IT systems and follows organizational procedures strictly related to the purposes described below.

In addition to the Owner, certain persons involved in operating the Service (e.g., administration, support, technical) and external providers (hosting, storage, email, analytics, authentication) may access data as processors under confidentiality and data-protection agreements.

Legal basis of processing

  • you have given consent for one or more specific purposes;
  • processing is necessary to perform a contract or to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract;
  • processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation;
  • processing is necessary for the purposes of our legitimate interests (e.g., securing and improving our services).

If EU/EEA/UK law applies, we will clarify the legal basis as needed and whether providing data is a statutory/contractual requirement.

Place of processing & international transfers

Data is processed at our operating locations and wherever processors are located. Where transfers occur outside your country/region, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) with our processors.

Retention

Personal Data is processed and stored for as long as required by the purposes described. Specifically:

  • Contractual data is retained until the contract is performed and for a reasonable period thereafter (e.g., bookkeeping/defense).
  • Legitimate-interest data is retained while needed for those interests.
  • Where consent applies, data is retained until consent is withdrawn.
  • We retain data longer if required by law or competent authorities.
  • Users can delete their own files and projects at any time within Studio Lab.
  • We will not share your projects or files with third parties without your permission.
  • Large modeling/structure files (high-MB assets) have an expiry date and are automatically deleted after 14 days to reduce storage and protect confidentiality.

After the retention period expires, data will be deleted or anonymized. The rights to access, erasure, rectification, and portability cannot be exercised after deletion.

Purposes of processing

We process data to provide and improve the Service, enable collaboration in Studio Lab, handle communications and support, ensure security and fraud prevention, comply with law, and perform analytics where enabled.

  • object to processing based on legitimate interests;
  • access your data and receive a copy;
  • verify and request rectification;
  • restrict processing in certain circumstances;
